At QRS, every gear box we repair or rebuild is put through a rigorous series of inspection checks to assure you receive the best engineered gear box possible. It’s just another example of how QRS goes that “extra mile” for you.

In fact, QRS even developed two special test stands to better control outside conditions during these inspections; which are carried out throughout the repair and rebuilding process.

GEARBOX TESTING

Typical tests include:

• Simple spin tests
• Contact patterns
• Simulation of actual running conditions
  and brake loads
• Bearing temperature monitoring
• And more

When additional testing is required beyond the scope of our in-house capabilities, such as vibration analysis, special equipment is brought in.

The bottom line is simply this – no gear box will get our staff’s stamp of approval until they’re absolutely certain it will hold up to real world conditions when you return it to service.
